Community Based Support - Out and About Bus Outings

This program aims to meet clients' individual needs for socialisatoin by offering group outings that are fun and entertaining, enhancing a persons quality of lfe, emotionally, physcially and mentally. It reduces social isolatoin and encourages individuals to be connected in their community.

Who can access this service?
People aged 65 and over, people with a mental illness, younger people with a disability and their carers.

Referral
Potential clients can contact CBS for more information. Family members/carers, medical practitioners, health professionals or other service providers may refer on the client’s behalf with the client’s consent.

Program Details
Bus outings run between 10am and 3pm on varying days (excluding public holidays).
Clients may be picked up from and dropped off to their home (depending on location). Lunch and snacks are provided.
Clients are encouraged to participate in the planning, delivery and evaluation of the outings.

Allocation
Is dependent on the overall demand for the service, a client’s individual needs and available resources at the time of assessment.

What does the service cost?
A flat rate of $5 is charged for each bus outing.
